Dr. B. A. Ajakaiye
Director General/ Chief Executive

Dr. Ajakaiye holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc D.I.C. Thermal Power Engineering and a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. He is also registered with COREN. He began his career in Public Service as a Lecturer. He was the Head, Lagos Zonal Office of the defunct Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) (1993 - 1994) and Head of Department of Environmental Assessment in the former Federal Ministry of Environment (2000 - 2004). His wealth of experience includes: environmental technology for pollution control, environmental impact assessment, oil and gas pollution control, environmental auditing. He was also responsible for the finalization of the National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (NOSCP) and the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) documents. Dr. Ajakaiye was appointed as the Director General / Chief Executive of NOSDRA in June, 2004. He is a member of Nigeria Society of Engineers (MNSE), International Solar Energy Society (MISES), and Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK (M.I, Mech.E.), amongst others.

Mr. Idris O. Musa
Director/ Head, Oil Spill Detection and Response Department (OSDR)

Mr. Musa holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) in Geography, a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. He worked in the private sector of the Nigerian economy before joining the public sector over a decade ago.  He has been in the environmental management field since, and worked variously as desk officer in Urban Environmental Compliance, Operations Criteria Enforcement in Oil and Gas, Gas Flare-Out Programme and presently Head, Oil Spill Detection and Response Department of the Agency.  He has attended a number of Courses in Oil Spill Management both in Nigeria and Overseas.  He also attended the Royal Institute of Public Administration in London where he participated in the Management and Policy Development Skills for Senior Managers.

Mr. O. J. Abe
Director/ Head, Planning, Policy Analysis and Research Department (PPAR)

Mr. Abe holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) in Zoology and a Master of Science degree (M.Sc) in Animal Science. He has over 14 years experience in the public sector as an Environmental Scientist, and has worked in the defunct Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA). He joined NOSDRA from the former Federal Ministry of Environment. He has attended various training programmes on oil spill and environmental management. He is presently the Head of Planning, Policy Analysis and Research Department. He hails from Ekiti State and is married with children.

Mr. Benjamin O. Akindele
Assistant Director/ Head, Warri Zonal Office

Mr. Akindele holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) in Geography, and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. He worked in various capacities as an Environmental Scientist in the defunct FEPA and Federal Ministry of Environment, a total of about 10 years before joining the Agency in 2006. His areas of specialization include Urban Environmental Compliance, Operations Criteria Enforcement in Oil and Gas, and Gas Flare-Out Programme. He is a registered Town Planner and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planning. He is presently Head, Warri Field Office. He hails from Ondo State and is married.
